Multi-Function Magnetic Cleaning Machine
The Multi-Function Magnetic Cleaning Machine (MFCM) is yet another example of Chace ingenuity. Many acetate based magnetic film assets suffer from various degrees of Vinegar Syndrome: a condition that causes film to deteriorate by affecting the stability of the either the acetate base or the magnetic emulsion of the film. Elements infected with Vinegar Syndrome can require hours of attention to prepare and clean in order to achieve an optimum transfer.
The MFCM is a proprietary device that combines several magnetic cleaning functions that address the issues of film deterioration due to Vinegar Syndrome. It replaces the arduous task of cleaning film by hand, which saves both time and expense.
The Chace Element Preparation Services Department can determine if an asset could benefit from a pass through the MFCM.
