About Us

In 1984 Rick Chace parted ways with Goodwin, and the company was incorporated as Chace Productions. Rick quickly moved the company into a different field - audio for video - to capitalize on his experience in the sound department at Modern Video Film.

Rick Chace, who passed away in 1992, was a pioneer in marrying digital technology with audio processing. An avid user of computer technology, Rick worked closely with computer-based synchronizer manufacturers and created a way of doing laybacks directly to video masters from film. Believe it or not, in 1984 this process required either an intermediate transfer or an expensive telecine suite.
